Oh my word, Old Dan and Little Ann!!! That was the first book that made me WEEP. I was 11. My brother asked me what I was crying about, and I could only sob “Dan and Ann!!!”…. Other memories… Atticus holding Scout on his lap… “The Man with Two Faces” in HP 1 literally having two faces… Ella breaking the curse and kissing Char (“Saving him made him mine”)… My Uncle Stephen reading us LWW and doing Susan’s voice… Rachel Lynde everything… Ned Nickerson crying “You Rat!” and punching out the bad guy then jumping into the ocean to save Nancy, who was tied up in canvas and saying her prayers… I should stop…
