Editing & Critique Services

While I’m not personally able to offer editorial or critiquing services, I’m happy to share some recommendations.

Writers who are looking for a critique partner should check out this post.  Writing groups, critique partners, and beta readers are of inestimable value to writers.  If you’re serious about becoming a better writer, you’ll need avenues for feedback.

If you are looking for professional editing services, I highly recommend my dear friend and brilliant editor Elyse Kallgren. Ben Barnhart has helped me with high-level conceptual edits as well as line editing, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with his incredible attention to detail and thorough understanding of what makes a great book.

I attended the Big Sur Writing Workshop in March 2013, and I was blown away by how much I learned about the children’s and young adult literature industry in just one weekend.  The small, intimate critique group setting was instrumental in helping me re-write the first chapter of my novel.  This workshop is perfect for serious YA writers with a completed or near-completed manuscript.
