I had to read Gatsby in high school and loved it as well. I really enjoyed seeing Les Miserables in the theater, but I haven’t read the book. I don’t know why I never considered reading it. Perhaps I should.
The only book on you list I was forced to read was The Great Gatsby (which is on my list as well), but you touched on a lot of my favorite books that I chose to read: C.S. Lewis, The Book Thief, Bird by Bird, and Island of the Blue Dolphins (which I’d completely forgotten about).
I haven’t read Les Miserables yet. I want to, but I’m pretty intimidated by the length of it!
Oooooooh… I am the Cheese and Les Miz! I have never been so thankful as I was when people browbeat me into reading those books!
Les Mis! I don’t even dare to start it, it’s so huge and scary! And mind you, I read GRRM 😀
I never liked Gatsby too much though.
Happy reading!
