What is your favorite thing about reading and/or writing?
It’s hard for me to choose just one thing! I love that I get to create new worlds, love that it’s my responsibility to make people think about God and ideas. But I think my very favorite thing is that I know that, when I write, I am sitting in the very seat of God’s will for my life … I am doing what I was created to do. How many 31-year-olds are that clear on their calling (and are able to respond)?! I love my literary life.

My reasons are the same as yours
love it!!
When I write, even when it feels like I can’t find the next word, it still feels like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing. I feel a contentment that I don’t feel with any other activity.
Mmmm … love that, Tina!!
Personally, I love when there are characters I can relate to, when I get to know them, watch their interactions with each other, and feel their struggles and triumphs right along with them. The highs and the lows, I want to experience them all with the characters I’ve grown to love.
When I myself am writing, my main goal is to make the reader feel something for the characters and the story I’m telling. Joy, sorrow, sympathy, anger, whathaveyou. I also like it when I can teach my audience something, too.
I just wish I had your certainty about God’s will for your life, Jackie.
I didn’t always feel this way!
But you feel that way NOW, right?
So, what changed? CBT happened?
CBT changed my whole life, yes. But also just writing almost daily for the last five years has solidified my calling in me.
